BANGALORE: Country's second largest software exporter Infosys on Wednesday said that it will focus on the Indian market in a big way as the technology spending in India is on the rise.

"In India technology expenditure is on the upswing and we think its the right time to enter India," Infosys COO S D Shibulal said, while talking about the growing focus on the Indian market.

"We have really entered the domestic market in the last six months (apart from Finacle)", he said and Infosys was now exploring the private sector, government and banking to drive the domestic market growth.

In reply to a question on Infosys partnering with Airtel in the backdrop of financial crisis in the US, he said "We believe in entering a country when it is right for us. We entered Canada and we are doing well. We entered Australia and are doing well. We have entered Japan and it has begun doing well".

The company today announced its partnership with Bharti Airtel in the media space.
