12 Dec: Bangalore Nano 2008

Thursday, July 17, 2008: The second edition of flagship Nanotechnology event, 'Bangalore Nano', is scheduled from 12 December to 14 December 2008, at the Grand Ashok Hotel, Bengaluru. The focal theme of the event is 'Nanotechnology in India's future'. The event will allow the participants to showcase their latest advancements in nanotechnology.

Commenting on the launch, Anand Vasant Asnotikar, minister, fisheries and science and technology, said, "Bangalore Nano 2008 would be an ideal forum for researchers and industry to interact and explore possibilities of applications of Nanotechnology in electronics, biopharma, engineering, etc. Application of Nanotechnology in various products is estimated to be $15 billion and its increased usage and wide applications would touch a trillion dollars by 2015."

Around 500 delegates is expected to participate in the event from countries like Germany, France, UK, USA, Australia, Korea, and Japan. Eminent researchers and industrialists in the field of Nanotechnology across the world would address the delegates during the three day event.

The highlights of Bangalore Nano event are International Conference, tradeshow, students programme, and special events like Research Industry Collaboration Hub [RICH], Poster Session. In tune with the focal theme of the event, the International Conference will focus on nanotechnology and its impact on India's future with special attention to industry and manufacturing, energy and environment, health and wellness, food and agriculture, ICT, electronics, chemicals and the investment and partnering opportunities offered.
