The Fedora Project, a Red Hat sponsored and community-supported open source collaboration project, will host the Fedora Users and Developers Conference (FUDCon) between 26 June and 28 June 2009 in Berlin, Germany. FUDCon is a periodically held, community event where the Fedora community meets to discuss and collaborate on cutting-edge technology features that eventually become part of the next release of the Fedora platform.
FUDCon will be held in Europe, in part because it will be co-located with LinuxTag, claimed to be Europe's leading exhibition on Linux and Open Source, and also because there is increasing interest in the Fedora Project throughout Europe, Middle East and Asia (EMEA) markets.
"Fedora community members are in every corner of the world and in order to keep our global community healthy, we regularly hold FUDCons outside of North America," said Max Spevack, former Fedora Project Leader and current manager, Red Hat's Community team. "Following successful events in Brno, Czech Republic in 2008 and Boston, Massachusetts in January 2009, we are very excited to bring FUDCon back to Europe." |
